OCU's Krienke honored as SAC player of week

Junior from Calgary, Alberta hit her first two home runs of year last week

Emily Krienke became league player of the week for the first time.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Emily Krienke of Oklahoma City University picked up Sooner Athletic Conference softball player of the week for April 7-13.
Krienke, a junior third baseman from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, led the Stars to a 6-0 week batting .684 (13-for-19) with 11 runs and four RBI. She had three doubles, a triple and two home runs for a 1.263 slugging percentage.
On Saturday, Krienke scored the go-ahead run on Kyndra Holasek's single as OCU rallied past Mid-America Christian 8-5 in the first of a doubleheader. In her first start at third base this year, Krienke pounded a home run and went 2-for-2 with three RBIs at Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Tuesday.
On the year, Krienke sports a .338 average with seven doubles, one triple, two homers, 11 RBIs and four stolen bases.
The Stars, ranked ninth in the NAIA, meet 21st-ranked Oklahoma Baptist in a 5 p.m. doubleheader Tuesday in Shawnee, Okla. Watch the games here.
