Stars bow out of STUNT Championships

OCU falls short of finals

The Stars eliminated Alma before falling to Davenport on Saturday.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Davenport (Mich.) knocked Oklahoma City University out of the STUNT Division II championship semifinals 29-28 in overtime Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.
OCU had finished as Division II runner-up the past two years. Davenport faces two-time champion Central Oklahoma at noon Saturday. The finals will be shown live on Varsity.com.
The Stars led 21-19 after three quarters. Davenport won the fourth quarter 8-6, then outscored OCU 2-1 in the extra period.
In the second round, OCU eliminated Alma (Mich.) 32-17. The Stars tallied eight points in each quarter for the victory.
The Stars compete in the NCA/NDA College Nationals on April 9-13 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
