Rateliff of Stars garners SAC pitcher of week

Junior hurler gets second career league pitcher of week honor

Jamie Rateliff helped OCU go 4-1 in the Cowtown Senior College Classic over the weekend.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Jamie Rateliff of Oklahoma City became the first winner of Sooner Athletic Conference softball pitcher of the week for 2014.
Rateliff, a junior from Mustang, Okla., was 1-0 with a win over ninth-ranked Belhaven (Miss.). She struck out four batters in 10 innings over three appearances – all wins for the Stars. She carried a 1.24 earned run average for the week, allowing four hits.
Against Belhaven, Rateliff permitted one earned run on three hits and two walks while fanning two in 5.2 innings pitched. Belhaven ranks 15th among the NAIA at 8.0 runs scored per game. Rateliff picked up her second SAC pitcher of the week nod.
The third-ranked Stars meet Southwestern Christian in a 2 p.m. doubleheader Thursday in Bethany, Okla.
