Wright of OCU grabs SAC honor

Senior from Moore, Okla., becomes fourth Star recognized by league in 2013

Drew Wright is tied for fifth in the Sooner Athletic Conference with eight home runs.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Drew Wright of Oklahoma City garnered Sooner Athletic Conference softball player of the week for April 1-7.
Wright, a senior third baseman from Moore, Okla., batted .500 (5-for-10) with three home runs for a 1.400 slugging percentage in OCU's four-game sweep of Oklahoma Baptist. She also had eight RBIs, two walks and scored four runs.
She posted her first multi-homer game as a Star in an 11-2 win over Oklahoma Baptist on Sunday in Shawnee, Okla. The Stars improved to 35-7, 11-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
On the year, Wright is hitting .377 with five doubles, eight homers and 38 RBIs.
OCU, ranked ninth in the NAIA, hosts third-ranked Lubbock Christian (Texas) in a 2 p.m. doubleheader Friday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
