Stars suffer 2-1 setback to Williams Baptist

Anderson home runs provide 14th-ranked Williams Baptist win

CONWAY, Ark. – Oklahoma City University dropped a 2-1 decision to Williams Baptist (Ark.) on Saturday at City of Colleges Park in the Central Baptist February Meltdown.
OCU (5-3) played its third game this season against a team included in NAIA softball's top 25. The Stars are ranked fourth, while Williams Baptist is No. 14.
The Stars tied the game 1-1 in the sixth inning on Drew Wright's sacrifice fly to bring home Shelbi Legg.
Shelby Anderson hit two home runs to account for Williams Baptist's runs. Anderson homered in the fourth and homered again for the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
Elizabeth Oberst (5-1) worked all seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out five for OCU. The Stars' Magean De La Torre had a hit.
The Stars open Sooner Athletic Conference play with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against USAO on Feb. 28 at Ann Lacy Stadium.
