Stars blank Rogers State 4-0

OCU downed the Hillcats to give coach Brian Harvey win No. 299

Brian Harvey picked up win No. 299 as OCU women's soccer coach against Rogers State.

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University defeated Rogers State 4-0 Friday at Soldier Field to give OCU coach Brian Harvey his 299th career win.
Harvey is the winningest active coach in NAIA women's soccer with an all-time record of 299-81-20. Harvey has the most combined men's and women's wins of any NAIA soccer coach with a record of 669-241-53.
The fourth-ranked Stars got a pair of goals from freshman Allison Worsham, of Edmond, Okla., and picked up their first Sooner Athletic Conference win to move to 8-0 on the season and 1-0 in SAC play.
Worsham got the Stars on the scoreboard early when she intercepted a Rogers State pass and scored her 11th goal of the season to make the score 1-0 in the 39th minute.
Worsham scored again in the 62nd minute when she took a pass from junior Meghan McMahon and beat Rogers State goalkeeper Jordan Harris to stretch the Stars' lead 2-0.
In the 75th minute, McMahon scored a goal of her own when she picked up a rebound in the box and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 3-0 in favor of OCU.
Sophomore Allie Glazner put the match out of reach in the 77th minute when she picked off a pass and found the back of the net to give the Stars the 4-0 victory.
Junior goalkeeper Ashley Bechtold made five saves in 90 minutes of work to earn her third shutout of the season.
OCU will return to action and attempt to give Harvey his 300th win against Mid-America Christian at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Evangel Field in Oklahoma City.
