Stars smash MidAmerica Nazarene 5-0

OCU got two goals apiece from Meghan McMahon and Allison Worsham to move to 3-0 on the season

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University plowed over MidAmerica Nazarene 5-0 Friday in the John Brown Classic at Alumni Field.
The Stars, ranked No. 5 in NAIA women's soccer, got two goals apiece from junior Meghan McMahon and freshman Allison Worsham to move to 3-0 on the young season.
OCU got on the scoreboard in the first minute of the match when senior Sheridan Horner's pass found Worsham who scored to give the Stars a 1-0 advantage.
In the 34th minute, senior Hollis St. John found Horner who beat MidAmerica goalkeeper Brenna Oddo to make the score 2-0.
Worsham scored her second goal of the match in the 60th minute when she beat Oddo to net her third goal of the season and push the OCU lead to 3-0.
In the 65th minute, Worsham found McMahon with a pass and McMahon found the back of the net to stretch the Stars' lead to 4-0.
McMahon capped the scoring in the 81st minute and gave OCU the 5-0 victory when she beat Oddo for her fifth goal of the season.
Junior goalkeepers Ashley Bechtold and Alissa Reed split time between the posts. Reed made the team's only save in 45 minutes of action.
The Stars outshot MidAmerica 22-5 on the afternoon.
OCU will return to action against Bacone at noon Saturday in their second match of the John Brown Classic in Siloam Springs, Ark.
