LaVelle of OCU no-hits Houston-Victoria in 8-0 win

Third-ranked Stars move to 8-1 with 4-1 victory over Northwood

Kylee Rounsaville socked two hits and knocked in a run against Northwood (Texas) on Saturday.
FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Lily LaVelle posted her second no-hitter in as many days in Oklahoma City University's 8-0 victory over Houston-Victoria on Saturday at Oran Good Park in a matchup of top 10-ranked teams in NAIA softball.
LaVelle, a senior from Bridge Creek, Okla., increased her career total to eight no-hitters in the St. Gregory's Invitational. Third-ranked OCU improved to 8-1 on the year with a 4-1 win over Northwood (Texas).
LaVelle struck out nine in six innings against 10th-ranked Houston-Victoria. Her record stood at 5-1 with the win.
Haley Anderson cranked two home runs for the Stars. Anderson, a senior from Edmond, Okla., homered for the fifth time in three games this weekend. She went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs against Houston-Victoria.
Angela Lovelady, a junior from El Cajon, Calif., pounded her first homer as a Star. Lovelady went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Against Northwood, LaVelle notched her first save of the year by fanning each batter she faced, eight, in 2.2 innings of work. Danielle Fox, a sophomore from Yukon, Okla., went to 2-0 after pitching 2.2 innings.
At the plate, LaVelle went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a stolen base. Kylee Rounsaville, a sophomore from Yukon, Okla., was 2-for-3 with a run driven in, while Tori Joyner, a junior from Mustang, Okla., went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a steal.
The Stars meet Mid-America Christian in a 1 p.m. doubleheader in Oklahoma City.
