OCU rolls past Rogers State 3-0

Stars move to 9-1, 4-0 in SAC play

Allie Glazner scored her third goal of the season in the 3-0 victory.
CLAREMORE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University women's soccer picked up a 3-0 victory on the road Friday against Rogers State at Soldier Field.
With the win the Stars, ranked 15th in the NAIA, improved to 9-1 on the season and 4-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
OCU got on the scoreboard first in the 24th minute when freshman Allie Glazner's corner kick deflected off of a Rogers State defender and into the net for an own goal to make the score 1-0.
The Stars scored again in the 36th minute when Glazner tucked the ball into the near post off of a corner kick to score her third goal of the season and make the score 2-0.
OCU added one more goal in the 63rd minute when junior Brenna Skillern took a free kick from 25 yards out and beat Rogers State goalkeeper Jordan Harris for her third goal of the season making the final score 3-0.
Sophomore goalkeepers Ashley Bechtold and Alissa Reed shared time in goal and combine for the shutout. Reed got the start and made one save in 45 minutes. Bechtold played the second half and made three saves in 45 minutes.
The Stars played solid defense controlling possession of the ball for much of the game and outshot Rogers State 16-6.
OCU will return to action against Oklahoma Baptist at 1 p.m. on Oct. 11 in Shawnee, Okla.
