OCU knocks down Calumet 12-2

David Odquist had 10 strikeouts Sunday.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University topped Calumet (Ind.) 12-2 on Sunday at Jim Wade Stadium. 
The Stars, currently ranked first in the NAIA, improved to 22-1.
Brent Weaver, a senior from Midwest City, Okla., went 2-for-5 hitting two home runs in the game, knocking in four RBIs. Jason Machado, a senior from Frisco, Texas, went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Machado knocked one out of the park to left field in the fourth inning.

David Mann, a junior from Albuquerque, N.M., went 3-for-5 on the day, batting in four runs. B.J. Wheeler also knocked in two runs for the Stars.

David Odquist, a senior from Midwest City, Okla., recorded the win for the Stars by throwing five innings. Odquist had 10 strikeouts, giving up four hits and one run. Zac Tidholm, Tristan Bugenis, Michael Bryant and Dustin Williams all threw one inning for the Stars to finish out the game.

The Stars will face Wayland Baptist (Texas) at 2 p.m. Sunday in a doubleheader to open a three-game series in Plainview, Texas.
