CHICKASHA – Oklahoma City got a pitching gem to earn a split at Science & Arts of Oklahoma on Thursday, dropping the first game 9-5 before taking the 1-0 win in the nightcap.

Bauer Brittain scattered six hits over six innings and
Nick Anaya added a scoreless seventh inning for the save.

After giving up a run in the first inning, OCU tied the game on a solo home run by
Wyatt Pace in the second.

The Drovers went up 7-1 before Pace added his second home run of the game – another solo shot.
Â
Down 9-2 in the seventh, the Stars got an RBI single from
Trent Baker and a two-run double by
Aiden Van Rensum for the final margin.

OCU had 10 hits, including two each by Pace, Baker and
Brittain Brewer.

Cayden Maxwell suffered the loss.
Lance Martin had a scoreless inning of relief.

The Stars got the only run of the game in the first inning when
Aiden Alexander singled and later scored on an error off the bat of Van Rensum.

Brittain made that run stand up with six scoreless frames. USAO got three runners in scoring position in the first six innings but Brittain was up to the task each inning.

Anaya allowed a single in the bottom of the seventh but the Stars turned their second double play of the game to take the split.

OCU had four hits in the game, led by Brewer with two.

The teams play the series finale in Chickasha at 1 p.m. on Friday.
