OCU baseball picks up first loss 4-3 to Iowa Wesleyan

Brent Weaver went 3-for-6 with an RBI.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University fell to Iowa Wesleyan 4-3 in extra innings. 
OCU, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, moved to 18-1.
Sammy Lee, a senior from Ninnekah, Okla., went 4-for-6 with one RBI. 
Brent Weaver, a senior from Midwest City, Okla., went 3-for-6 knocking in one RBI.

The Stars scored first in the third inning. A single from Lee scored Kirk Walker who got on base from a single from left field. Iowa Wesleyan put up a run in fourth inning.

OCU and Iowa Wesleyan were tied at three going into extra innings. Iowa Wesleyan scored in the top of the 13th.
Devin Smith singled and advanced to second on error by the Stars shortstop. Edwin Jimenez hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Smith giving Iowa Wesleyan a one run advantage.

Dustin Williams, a junior from Norman, Okla., pitched five innings for the Stars with six strikeouts giving up one run. Brad Riddle, a junior from Bethany, Okla., recorded the loss for the Stars. Riddle pitched three innings, giving up the winning run for Iowa Wesleyan.

The Stars will face Rogers State on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Claremore, Okla.
