PITTSBURG, Kan. – Oklahoma City University completed an unbeaten run through the Pittsburg State Invitational by knocking out six home runs in three wins Saturday at the Pittsburg State Softball Complex.

The Stars, ranked seventh in the NAIA, moved to 19-1 after a 5-0 performance in the weekend tournament. OCU beat Fort Hays State (Kan.) 3-0, Bellevue (Neb.) 11-0 and Pittsburg State (Kan.) 4-1 on Saturday.

Mindy Crabaugh and Melissa Moore homered twice Saturday. Crabaugh, a senior from Edmond, Okla., hit her sixth homer this season after entering the year with three career home runs.

Lily LaVelle held Fort Hays to two hits and struck out six. LaVelle retired nine batters in a row from the fourth inning until the seventh.

In the second, Jen Davis cranked a two-run homer over the center-field fence. Moore homered in the sixth.

Against Bellevue, OCU recorded 14 hits. Ashley Wilburn limited Bellevue to Jordann Ellis' base hit in the fourth. Wilburn (9-1) held Bellevue hitless through 3.2 innings and fanned seven.

The Stars put together a five-run fourth and a four-run second. In the fourth, Howard nailed a solo homer, then Moore hammered a two-run blast. After a pitching change, Crabaugh made it back-to-back homers by going yard.

Howard had a second-inning two-run double, and LaVelle added a two-run single in the inning.

LaVelle went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Moore was 2-for-3 with three runs driven in. Howard went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Crabaugh and Erin Slettvet were each 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Against Pittsburg State, Slettvet got OCU on the board with a run-scoring base hit in the first. Crabaugh nailed a two-run homer in the same inning. Crabaugh drove in another run in the seventh with a single.

Crabaugh was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Howard went 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Davis, Slettvet and Bianca Bryant each went 1-for-3.

LaVelle improved to 8-0, notching nine strikeouts in a complete-game three hitter.
