CLAREMORE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University remained unbeaten with 5-2, 12-2 wins over Rogers State on Thursday at the Hillcat Complex.
The Stars, ranked seventh in NAIA softball, improved to 8-0, 6-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
In the first game, OCU erased a 2-0 deficit with a three-run third inning. The Stars had nine hits.
Lily LaVelle, a freshman from Bridge Creek, Okla., went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Mindy Crabaugh was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Jen Davis went 1-for-3 and drove in a run.
Ashley Wilburn held Rogers State without a hit in the final six innings, notching 11 strikeouts. Wilburn improved to 4-0 on the year.
In the second game, LaVelle limited Rogers State to two unearned runs on two hits and struck out six. She moved to 2-0 this year. LaVelle pounded a homer and drove in three runs.
Melissa Moore went 4-for-4 with a homer and four runs scored for OCU. Crabaugh, Davis and Slettvet all went deep as the Stars had 18 hits.
Crabaugh, a senior from Edmond, Okla., went 3-for-4, while Davis went 3-for-3 with four RBIs.
