OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's women's soccer team dropped its Sooner Athletic Conference opener to Rogers State 1-0 Saturday evening at Stars Field.
The Stars (3-4, 0-1 SAC) outshot RSU 14-10, including 10-4 shots on goal, but were held scoreless for the second straight game.
The two teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half with each team taking six shots.
Kendall Clement netted the only goal of the game in the 60th minute to give Rogers State the lead for good.
OCU had quality looks at the goal throughout the game. The Stars took ten shots on goal, all of which were stopped by RSU goalie Bailey Lynn.
Sarah Leonard and Malin Anderson each had four shots to lead OCU. Leonard, a senior from West Yorkshire, England, took all four of her shots on goal.
OCU also took six corner kicks to only one for Rogers State.
Brittany Tibbs recorded three saves in goal for the Stars.
OCU will travel to Mid-America Christian at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
