Suter puts in go-ahead goal in 4-1 OCU win

BETHANY, Okla. -- Laurie Suter chipped in the go-ahead goal in the Oklahoma City University women?s soccer team?s 4-1 victory over Southern Nazarene on Tuesday at Harmon Field.
Zoe Barratt launched the ball across the field and right into Suter, positioned on the opposite side of the net from Barratt. Suter had entered the game just before then. The Stars, ranked 17th in NAIA, now are 6-0-1 on the season.
?It was a beautiful cross,? said Suter, a sophomore from Phoenix. ?It was Zoe. I just turned and kicked it in.?
Barratt, a freshman from West Yorkshire, England, added the final goal of the game off a feed from Jessica Caudle. Barratt beat a defender for the long pass.
SNU?s Shannon Strimple scored 27:06 into the game, but Erika Garbrecht scored unassisted to tie the game almost three minutes later. OCU?s Christin Baker also scored from 30 yards out when Whitney Ward passed back to Baker from near the net. Baker shot the ball off the upper post and into the goal.
OCU peppered the SNU goal with 33 shots, while SNU managed 12 shots on goal.
The Stars go to Ada to face East Central at 2 p.m. Sunday.
