OKLAHOMA CITY ? Whitney Ward and Laurie Suter put goals in for the Oklahoma City University women?s soccer team in a 2-1 victory over Southern Nazarene on Saturday at Stars Field.
Ward scored 12 minutes into the game from straight on, bending the ball over the goalkeeper from 20 yards away. Twenty minutes later, Suter headed the ball into the net off Jennifer Crawford?s cross.
The Stars improved to 12-2-1, 3-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. SNU is now 3-8, 1-3. OCU played before a season-high crowd of 180.
?The girls had a very good first half,? OCU coach Brian Harvey said. ?We gave up a silly goal in the second half. We have to concentrate.?
OCU finishes its home schedule by playing Northwestern at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
