Chilton, Inglett of OCU make all-American team

Stars went 18-9, advanced to NAIA Tournament in 2014-15

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Gary Inglett took second-team NAIA Division I men's basketball all-American accolades, while his teammate Tharone Chilton snagged honorable-mention acclaim.
The Stars went 18-9, finished second place in the Sooner Athletic Conference and reached the NAIA Division I Tournament.
Inglett, a senior from Ardmore, Okla., turned in 17.0 points and 9.7 rebounds a game while hitting 55.2 percent of his shots from the field for Oklahoma City. Inglett led the SAC in rebounding, field-goal percentage and double-doubles (11) while ranking fifth nationally with 7.5 defensive rebounds a game.
This season, Inglett became the conference newcomer of the year. His season highs include 28 points vs. Oklahoma Baptist on Jan. 17, 20 rebounds vs. Central Oklahoma on Nov. 3 and seven steals and seven assists at St. Thomas on Nov. 15. He reeled in SAC player of the week for Feb. 2-8.
Chilton, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., recorded 17.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.48 steals per contest. Chilton ranked seventh in the SAC in scoring and fifth in the league with a 49.7 percent field-goal percentage. His notable performances include 36 points at Oklahoma Baptist on Feb. 14, 11 rebounds at St. Gregory's on Jan. 24, 10 assists vs. St. Gregory's on Feb. 19 and five steals at John Brown (Ark.) on Jan. 29.
He boasts of being first-team all-SAC, SAC player of the week for Feb. 16-22 and the first Star since 2007 to reach 30 points in consecutive games.
OCU featured five seniors on the 2014-15 team. With their help, the Stars were 34-23 with two second-place finishes in the SAC and a national-tournament appearance the past two years.
Ivan Jelencic, a senior from Sibenik, Croatia, provided OCU with 8.0 points and 5.7 rebounds a game and a 52.8 percent shooting percentage. Jelencic's season highs were 19 points against Concordia (Calif.) on March 19 in the NAIA Tournament, 11 rebounds vs. St. Gregory's on Feb. 19 and four assists against Oklahoma Baptist on Jan. 17. He had 217 points, 153 rebounds, 20 assists, 17 steals and 13 blocks this season.
R.J. McGhee, a senior from Baton Rouge, La., ended his OCU career with 775 points, 190 rebounds, 90 assists, 59 steals and 89 treys. McGhee had career highs of 42 points vs. Mid-America Christian on Jan. 18, 2014 at Abe Lemons Arena, nine rebounds on several occasions, six assists at Texas Wesleyan on Dec. 4, 2014, six 3s most recently at St. Gregory's on Jan. 24, 2015 and five steals at USAO on Jan. 8, 2015 in Chickasha, Okla. He is a two-time all-SAC selection, an honorable-mention all-American last season and SAC player of the week for Nov. 3-9.
Dema Sane, a senior from Mermoz, Senegal, finished his Stars career with 217 points, 186 rebounds, 56 blocks, 12 steals and 11 assists. Sane achieved career highs of 17 points against Texas Wesleyan on Jan. 23, 2014 and 11 rebounds and four blocks both against Wayland Baptist (Texas) on March 6 in the SAC Tournament.
