OKLAHOMA CITY – Shane Rogers and Johnny Stephene have signed letters of intent to attend Oklahoma City University and play basketball for the 2010-11 academic year.
Rogers, a 6-foot-3 guard from Flower Mound, Texas, is a junior-college transfer who played for Collin County (Texas) the past two seasons. Stephene, a 6-1 guard from Boynton Beach, Fla., is a transfer who played for Liberty the past two seasons and will have two seasons of eligibility.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chris Brown of Oklahoma City University was named an honorable-mention NAIA Division I men’s basketball all-American.
Brown, a senior from Spencer, Okla., averaged 17.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.11 steals per game for the Stars.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma City University were ousted by Southern Polytechnic State (Ga.) 78-70 on Wednesday in the opening game of the NAIA Division I men’s basketball tournament at Municipal Auditorium.
The 16th-seeded Stars (17-10) succumbed to Southern Poly shooting as the victors sank 11 3-pointers. Southern Poly (27-5) advanced to the round of 16 at 10:45 a.m. Friday.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma City University begins pursuit of its seventh men’s basketball national championship meeting Southern Polytechnic State (Ga.) at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 17 in the NAIA Division I Tournament at Municipal Auditorium.
Six-time national champion OCU captured titles in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008. The 16th-ranked Stars were the sixth at-large team selected to the tournament.

BETHANY, Okla. – Cold shooting cost Oklahoma City University in a 68-57 loss to Rogers State in the quarterfinals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday evening at the Sawyer Center.
The Stars, ranked 16th in NAIA Division I men’s basketball, shot just 39.2 percent from the field. OCU (17-9) missed its first nine shots of the game and went the first 7:41 without a point. The Stars also struggled from the free-throw line, making just 13 of 26 shots.
