LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma City University suffered a 66-63 setback to Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Saturday at the Rip Griffin Center.

"In order to win on the road, you have to put two halves together," OCU coach Dionne Phelps said. "Waiting until the second half to play with a sense of urgency makes winning very difficult."

From the free-throw line, OCU sank 10 of its 17 attempts, but knocked in 7-for-8 in the second half.
The Stars rallied from a 16-point deficit to take the lead late. Adams' jumper finished an 11-2 run that put OCU ahead 63-62 at the 1:23 mark.
Jones added four points, and Wade chipped in a 3-point play during OCU's outburst.
After Sample's 3-point play, Anthony Brancato knocked in a free throw for Lubbock Christian with three seconds left for the final margin.
Douglas Williams' layup gave Lubbock Christian a 46-30 advantage with 19:05 left in the game. Williams provided Lubbock Christian its largest lead of the game and capped an 11-2 Lubbock Christian run.
