Pioneers Edge Stars in Five

PLAINVIEW, Texas – Oklahoma City lost for the first time on the road this season, losing a hard-fought five-set battle at Wayland Baptist on Saturday.
 
WBU prevailed 25-21, 17-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-13.
 
Kacie Townsend led the Stars with 19 kills while Bailey Lowder added 13. Rylie Steward had 44 assists. Katelyn Stephenson had six aces in her season debut.
 
Amber Jones was in on four blocks with Rylie Steward and Maddie Edwards going up for three each. Kate Cleofe led the back row with 17 digs, followed by Townsend with 14, Stephenson with 12 and Joeci Hunt with 11.
 
OCU is back in action Tuesday when the Stars visit Southwestern Christian at 6 p.m.
