OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City won the first set and played evenly with Texas Wesleyan through the first two sets before losing 3-1 on Saturday.

OCU was plagued by 13 serving errors and nine receiving errors, falling 23-25, 27-25, 25-11, 25-23.

The Stars got 15 kills from
Kaylie Marshall and a dozen from
Grace Smallwood while
Natalie Adams hoisted 36 assists.

Layla Olvera came through with a pair of aces.

Defensively, Smallwood had 12 digs and Marshall was in on five blocks.

OCU got the first set, 25-23. Down 22-20, the Stars used a 4-0 run to take a 24-22 lead behind an
Erin Mack kill and an Olvera ace. Smallwood would later put the game away with a kill.

OCU lost the second set 27-25 and points were even at 50-50 but momentum had swung toward the Rams.

The Stars dipped to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a four-match road swing upcoming. Next up for OCU is a match Friday at Oklahoma Panhandle State.
