OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City volleyball wraps up the first half of the Sooner Athletic Conference season this week with road matches at John Brown and College of the Ozarks.

The Stars face off against JBU in Siloam Springs, Ark., Friday at 6 p.m. and CO at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Point Lookout, Mo.

Last Match: Oklahoma City won its fourth consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball match with a 3-0 win over Langston on Saturday. The Stars held Langston to a negative attack percentage for the match.Â
Grace Smallwood led OCU with 11 kills while
Kaylie Marshall added nine.Â
Natalie Adams had 32 assists. Adams, who had seven assists on Tuesday and three on Friday, added three more to her total while Olvera racked up five. Defensively, Edwards was in on four blocks.Â
Kate Cleofe led the team with 14 digs with Marshall adding 11.

Trend: In the last four matches, all OCU sweeps, the Stars are averaging 12.92 kills and swinging at a .204 cllip. They also are averaging an incredible 3.25 aces per set.

In League: After a 0-5 start in the Sooner Athletic Conference, the Stars are just a game out of fourth place and can make a jump with another solid week this week.

Grace Kills: Grace Smallwood leads the Stars and the Sooner Athletic Conference with 3.59 kills per set. She leads the SAC with 212 total kills this season.

With the Assist: Natalie Adams leads the Sooner Athletic Conference with 9.76 assists per game this season. She has a conference high 576 assists this season and 2000 for her career.
Access Denied: Maddie Edwards and
Marina Kalajdzic have been strong up front for the OCU defense. Kalajdzic has 12 solos and 41 total blocks, while Edwards has 46. Edwards is sixth and Kalajdzic is seventh in the SAC in blocks.

Digs Rising: The Stars have three players averaging over three digs per set and two are hitters.
Kaylie Marshall averages 3.48 per set and
Grace Smallwood checks in at 3.42. That pair is eighth and 10

Aces: Natalie Adams recorded an all-time top-five performance with seven aces against Southwestern Christian on Sept. 23. She has moved up to fourth in the SAC with 25 aces this season.

On to 300!: Coach
Kristen Coventon came into the season with 195 career coaching wins – 109 of those at Oklahoma City. The win on Tuesday was career win No. 200 for her. She picked up her 100th win of her Stars era at home against USAO on Sept. 28. Her win total now stands at 201 for her career and 115 at OCU.

Setter of the Week: Oklahoma City University got its first weekly volleyball honor of the season with
Natalie Adams taking Setter of the Week honors. Adams had 10.7 assists in two road matches for the week, adding 10 digs in each of those matches. It is the second career Setter of the Week honor for Adams, who is a two-time All-Conference selection.

History with JBU: The Stars lead the series with John Brown, 32-14, including a split of the matches last season. Each team won at home, 3-1, last season.

History with CO: College of the Ozarks and OCU are all square in the all-time series at 4-4. OCU got the sweep of the series last season, winning 3-2 at home and 3-1 on the road.

Scouting the Golden Eagles: John Brown is 6-11 overall and 2-7 in the league after a pair of home losses to USAO and Mid-America Christian last week. After opening the league at 2-1, the Golden Eagles have hit a six-match slide. Clara Hyke leads the attackers at 2.15 kills per set. Paige Addington is second in the SAC with 34 aces.

Scouting the Bobcats: College of the Ozarks is 5-4 in the league and 10-4 overall with matches Wednesday at Evangel and Friday at home against Southwestern Christian. Cora Roweton leads the team with 3.04 kills per set.
