STILLWATER – Taking on a field of top NCAA Division I talent, Oklahoma City men's cross country finished 17
th at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree on Friday.
OCU finished with 494 points. Third-ranked Oklahoma State won the meet with 36 points, followed by No. 2 New Mexico at 41 and No. 25 Tulsa at 107.
"The goal for today was to be proactive and engaged," said OCU Coach
Andrew Leahey. "This is one of the toughest courses in the country. I didn't care about time. I cared about how they portrayed themselves in the race. I am pleased with what I saw from our men's and women's teams. I think we can now move forward with a tougher mindset into our next race."
Hendrick Ramirez led the Stars in 94
th place, using 26 minutes to finish the eight-kilometer course.
Riley Randall was 120
th at 26:28.1.
Braydon Witthorne was 137
th at 26:54.3,
Ryan McLaughlin placed 152
nd at 27:22.3 and
Carson Patten capped the scoring in 164
th at 27:54.6.
Cooper Phillips placed 177
th with a time of 28:45.7 and
Javier Medina came in at 29:45.9 for 186
th.
