Stars Finish Second, Send Six to Nationals

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Men's Wrestling team captured second place in the AMC/SAC Championships on Saturday inside Abe Lemons Arena while the team sent six Stars to Nationals. 

Oklahoma City claimed five victories headlines by Keegan Luton and Cade Manion each winning their fourth consecutive conference titles. 

Luton claimed victory in the 149 class after defeating Brandon Bollinger from Missouri Baptist by fall in the semifinal found before taking the crown in the title match winning in sudden victory over Alex Pena from Wayland Baptist. 

Manion became victorious after winning both his matches by fall, first defeating Kael Glenn from William Woods in 39 seconds before taking down Tyler Deen from Missouri Baptist in 4:18. 

Garrett Johnson won his first ever conference title in the 125 class after a win by fall in 2:22 over Jarrett Quinlan from Wayland Baptist. Johnson took the win in the championship match over Nehemiah Ventura from Texas Wesleyan by tech fall. 

Bryce Milster will be advancing to his first NAIA National Championship after stringing together a pair of victories with a major decision over Jaykob Mills from Wayland Baptist while following it up with another win over a Pioneer by decision over Malakai Owens. 

Omari Smith has been a key asset since joining the team at semester and claimed victory on Saturday in the 197 pound class with a major decision over Braeden Stotts from Missouri Baptist before earning the win over John Bray from Wayland Baptist by a 7-2 decision. 

The Pioneers claimed the top team spot with 180 points while the host Stars earned second place with 153 points.
