CHICKASHA – Oklahoma City never trailed and remained perfect in Sooner Athletic Conference games with a 96-80 win at USAO on Thursday night.

The Stars held the Drovers 28 points under their season scoring average and handed them their first loss of the season after opening at 4-0.

Jackson Hopps all scored in a game-opening 7-0 run and OCU never looked back. The Stars led 54-36 at the half after
SaVaughn Smith gave the Stars its largest lead of the half on a three-point play with three seconds to go.

The Drovers got within 11 with 9:55 remaining in the game but Hopps scored the next five points to help the Stars re-establish momentum with a 75-59 lead.

OCU's lead peaked with a Hopps three-pointer at the 3:53 mark, 84-65.

Carlisle and Hopps led OCU with 18 points with Alexander coming up with 17 points and seven assists.

Alphonse Muteba led the Stars with eight rebounds to go with his nine points.

The Stars shot 52 percent from the field and connected on 10 of 21 three-point attempts.

OCU returns to action on Saturday, visiting Mid-America Christian at 4 p.m.
