PARK CITY, Kan. – Fourteenth-ranked Oklahoma City women's wrestling opened the season strongly at the Friends Falcon Open on Friday.

OCU produced three runners-up and a pair of third-place finishes.

Bryce White,
Natalia Posada and
Ella Murphey all reached the finals in the Open, where
Corin Lowe also placed third.
Coty Sessions took third place in the freshman/sophomore category.

"I'm incredibly proud of how our girls wrestled this weekend," said OCU Head Coach
William McKinney. "This tournament was packed with top-level national talent, and our athletes stepped up to the challenge. Their performance set a strong foundation for the start of our season."

White reached the 131-pound finals with a pair of technical falls after putting down Mariam Shariq of Baker in the opener. She went 1-1 on the day against Oklahoma State entrants.

Posada fought to a decision over Maci Pearson of St. Mary in the first round and then recorded a pair of technical falls. She lost in the finals to Oklahoma State's Eleanor Dean.

Murphey won by fall and technical fall in her first two matches at 207 before losing an 8-2 decision to No. 18 Haley Ward of Avila.

Lowe was third at 145 pounds. After taking a loss in her opener, she beat an entry from host Friends and then scored a decision over second-ranked Bridgette Sotomayor of Doane, 6-3.

Sessions marked her college debut with two falls and two technical falls before falling by decision.

The Stars return to the mats on Nov. 9 at the Viking Open in Poteau.
