Last Game: Oklahoma City opened the season with a 119-70 victory over Randal on Friday. Seven Stars scored in double figures, led by
Alphonse Muteba with 17.

With the Assist: Beau Tranter came off the bench to lead the Stars with five assists while Brian Alxander added four in his limited court time as a starter.

High Percentage: The Stars had several dunks in the season opener and walked out of the gym shooting 54 percent from the field.
Alphonse Muteba knocked down seven of his eight shots on the night.

From the Arch: OCU connected on 43 percent of its three-point shots on Friday and that percentage was higher in the second half even though the Stars doubled their attempts from the first half.
Jackson Hopps and
Beau Tranter each hit their two shots each and eight OCU players connected for 10 three-pointers on the evening.

Freebies: Jackson Hopps (4-4) and
Alphonse Muteba (3-3) combined for a perfect night at the free throw line. The Stars shot 73 percent from the line as a team, canning 27 of their 37 attempts.

Board Work: OCU dominated the backboards to the tune of a 57-30 rebounding advantage.
Hykeem Hancock and
Alphonse Muteba led the Stars with nine each.
SaVaughn Smith was impressive on the offensive glass, giving the Stars four second chances. OCU got 27 second-chance points in the opener.

Opportunistic: The Stars forced 17 turnovers in the season opener and those led to 31 points. OCU averaged 1.8 points off of the turnovers.

Defense: Five Stars contributed to OCU's 11 steals on Friday, led by Jona Carlisle with three.

Head Coach Sam Kohnke: Coach Sam Kohnke is off to a 1-0 start at Oklahoma City, which brings his career record to 92-38. He was 91-38 in four seasons at Central Baptist College.

History in the Making: Hastings and OCU will be meeting for the first time as men's basketball opponents. Thursday's game is also the first of two neutral court games between the teams this season. Both will square off again on Nov. 8 in the Concordia Cattle Classic in Seward, Neb.

Scouting the Broncos: Hastings is 0-2 this season with losses in the Bellevue Classic to Bellevue and Central Methodist. Guard Ben Boudreau averages 20 points a game for the Broncos.
