CHICKASHA, Okla. - The Oklahoma City Men's Basketball suffered its fourth consecutive defeat after four Stars reached double-figure scoring in the 79-72 loss inside Drover Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.

STAT OF THE GAME: James Cloud notched his season-high of 16 points in Saturday's contest as the sophomore made and attempted his highest total of field goals in a game while hauling in five rebounds.
FIRST HALF: Early in the game Science & Arts used an 11-2 run to jump out to a 14-6 lead and eventually took its largest advantage of 12 points with 9:37 to go. Oklahoma City was able to work its way back to a five-point deficit after a three-point play by
Clayton Jewell followed by a pair of free throws from
James Cloud. The Drovers jumped back out to a double-digit lead only for OCU to cut it right back down to five again with 2:25 to play after
Brandon Wilson and
Sam Taulapiu helped keep the Stars right in it. USAO finished the half on an 8-2 run on back-to-back threes from Lendy Holmes and Cade Allen to send the teams into the halftime break at 48-37.
SECOND HALF: Science & Arts held its double-digit lead through the first five minutes until OCU strung together an 8-0 run to cut the Drover lead to just three as
Yorgio Golesis got the momentum rolling before
James Cloud knocked down two consecutive field goals.
Brandon Wilson put the Stars in front 61-60 with 8:54 remaining in the game giving Oklahoma City the lead for the first time since it was 4-3 with 16:13 in the first half. Coming down the floor, Ryein Kennedy erased the Stars lead for the final time with a three-point basket giving Science & Arts the momentum to stretch back out to a seven point lead with 5:08 to go. With just over four minutes to play Taulapiu and
Avery Jackson helped cut the gap to a one possession game at 74-71 however the Stars could only score just one point for the remainder of the contest as USAO pulled away with a 5-1 run to finish the game.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City moves 8-7 overall after its fourth straight defeat and goes to 4-7 in conference play.
- Brandon Wilson scored in double-figures for the fifth time in the last six games with a team-high 17 points to go along with three rebounds and two steals.
- Sam Taulapiu dropped a season-high 13 points in his third game of the season since returning back to the Stars lineup on Dec. 14 against Mid-America Christian.
- Avery Jackson rounded out the four double-digit scorers for OCU posting 12 points in 37 minutes of action.
- With the Drover win, USAO takes a 19-17 lead in the all-time series since 2008.
NEXT TIME OUT: Oklahoma City will take on College of the Ozarks on Monday night as the Stars will travel to Point Lookout, Mo. for the first time ever to take on the Bobcats at 8:00 PM.
