SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - The Oklahoma City Men's Basketball brought seven players on its roadtrip to John Brown while the Golden Eagles knocked down 20 threes in 50-point win over OCU.

STAT OF THE GAME: John Brown lit up the night from range hitting 20 three pointers coming up one three shy of tying the all-time program record as the Golden Eagles knocked down the most shots from beyond the arc since 2004. The three-point line has been a thorn in the Stars side all season as Monday night was the 11th time an opponent has cashed in double-digits triples against the Stars.
FIRST HALF: Right out the gate John Brown took control all the way to the end opening with a 16-2 lead shooting 4-for-6 from three in the first five minutes. Oklahoma City finally broke into double-digits with 13:03 to play on a
Neil Rice triple as
Beau Tranter followed with a two cutting the deficit down to 12. JBU went off for seven straight points while eventaully putting together an 18-3 run as the shots from distance continued to rain home as John Brown took a 58-30 lead into the half making it the most points allowed by OCU in a half this season.
SECOND HALF: The next 20 minutes continued to be all JBU extending its lead up to 31 points with 12:08 to play while a 15-2 Golden Eagle run gave the home squad a 40 point advantage after back-to-back threes from Tristan Batie with 7:01 remaining. Oklahoma City was outscored in the second half 45-23 while the 20th and final three of the night for John Brown was knocked down with 12 seconds to go from Drew Miller taking the largest margin of the night of 50 points to end Monday night's affair.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City drops its third straight while moving to .500 for the first time this season as the Stars fall to 6-10 in conference play sitting ninth overall in the SAC standings.
- Beau Tranter led the way for OCU in scoring reaching a career-high 19 points on 3-of-3 shooting from downtown while also leading the team with a career-best eight rebounds.
- James Cloud follwed Tranter with nine points while dishing out a career-high four assists.
- Nick Bonifay made his first start of the season and second overall for his career while Lawrence Taylor Jr and Neil Rice were in the starting lineup for the first time in their careers.
- John Brown sweeps the season-series for the first time since the 2019-20 season after earning a 90-86 win over the Stars back on Nov. 26 inside Abe Lemons Arena.
- JBU secures its fourth win over the last five meetings while Oklahoma City maintains the overall series lead of 21-18 since 2007.
NEXT TIME OUT: Oklahoma City will take on rival Mid-America Christian this Saturday, Jan. 25 at 4:00 PM inside the Gaulke Activity Center.
