OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City women's basketball will hit the road for one game and travel to Fort Worth, Texas to take on the Rams of Texas Wesleyan at 6 PM on Thursday, Feb. 15.

About the Stars 

  • Oklahoma City enters Thursday's game against the Rams looking to snap a four-game losing streak as the Stars hold just a 6-18 overall record while going 5-13 in conference play.  
  • OCU comes off a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of UNT-Dallas as the Trailblazers defeated the Stars on a game-winning three-point shot with two seconds left on the clock.  
  • Amaya Gordon has been the rock of this Stars team averaging a team-high 15.1 PPG while playing three straight games without exiting the floor. Gordon brought in SAC player of the week honors two weeks ago after an outstanding performance against Central Christian where she dropped a career-high 29 points and 18 rebounds in the win over the Tigers. 
  • Ray Osborn and Cacie Gorman join Gordon in the senior tandem as key performers to the Stars team. Osborn moved up to 10.4 PPG scorer after scoring 20 points against SAGU on Thursday and 18 points against UNT-Dallas on Saturday.  
  • Cacie Gorman comes in averaging 6.8 PPG while grabbing 7.8 RPG including 1.87 blocks per game, which leads the Sooner Athletic Conference. Gorman, a senior out of Watonga, Oklahoma scored just seven points against the Trailblazers on Saturday but grabbed 15 rebounds in the game to set a new career high.  

About the Rams

  • The Rams enter with an 11-13 overall record with a 7-11 record in SAC play sitting in the 8th spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings. 
  • Texas Wesleyan comes off a win over Oklahoma Panhandle State by a score of 60-44 after snapping a five game losing streak. 
  • Mary Nyakundi comes off a 17 point outing as the senior averages 11.4 PPG and shoots 86.8% from the line, second best in the conference. 
  • The Rams have seen its struggles on the glass, being just the 10th rated rebounding team in the conference.

Previous Meeting 

  • The last time these two met up came back on Jan. 20 when the Stars suffered a heartbreaking down-to-the-wire defeat 66-63. In the game, Texas Wesleyan had four players reach double-figures as Taryn Willis notched a double-double for the Rams while the team shot 52.9% from beyond the arc.  
  • For the Stars, Amaya Gordon led the way with 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Analynn Bohner set a new career high with 11 points sinking three of the five OCU three-pointers.  

Series History  

  • After starting the series 9-0, the Stars dropped the last six meetings against Texas Wesleyan with the last win coming on Jan. 28, 2021.
