STAT OF THE GAME: Clayton Jewell notched his sixth double-double of the year after tying a team-high of 18 points while grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. Saturday was Jewell's seventh game this season he has hauled in double-digit rebounds while reaching double-figures in scoring for the sixth time this season. Â
FIRST HALF: Oklahoma City leaped out to an early nine point lead after an 11-2 run capped off by an
Avery Jackson three. Central Christian began to heat from distance by putting together a 12-2 run to take its first lead of the day at 21-19 halfway through the first half. The Tigers remained in front for the rest of the way taking their biggest lead of nine points into the halftime breakÂ
SECOND HALF: OCU began to chip away cutting the deficit to two five minutes into the half.
Clayton Jewell scored six straight points for the Stars while
Yorgio Golesis went 4-for-4 from the charity stripe to close in on the Tigers lead. Central Christian heated up once again going off for five straight threes which boosted the lead up to 13 points with eight minutes to go. Oklahoma City struggled to get anything going as Central soared up to an 18 point lead and held the double-digit advantage for the rest of the way as
James Cloud scored the final five points for OCU as the Stars fell 89-76.Â
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City dropped its first game on the road as the Stars move to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play.Â
- Central Christian went 14-for-29 from three-point land, tying the most by an opponent after Ozarks did it on Monday.Â
- Yorgio Golesis kept his double-digit scoring streak alive for the ninth straight game tying a team-high with Clayton Jewell of 18 points to go along with five assists while shooting 6-of-6 from the line.Â
- Avery Jackson came up one rebound shy of a double-double by going for 15 points and nine rebounds while going 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
- James Cloud scored in double-figures for the third time this season with 10 points while hauling in his second-highest rebound count of six boards.Â
NEXT TIME OUT: Oklahoma City will begin its five-game home stand on Tuesday, Nov. 26 with its last game before Thanksgiving break going up against John Brown inside Abe Lemons Arena with tip off slated for 8:00 PM.Â
