STAT OF THE GAME: Oklahoma City posted its season-high for field goals made in a game as a team this season going 32-for-68 from the floor.
FIRST HALF: Ozarks came out scorching hot from range hitting three consecutive three-pointers to open the game and going up 11-0 heading into an OCU timeout.
Brandon Wilson and
James Cloud nailed shots from distance to pull Oklahoma City closer but the hot shooting night from the Bobcats didn't slow down as Ozarks hit 11-of-18 threes in the first half on 14 total field goals.
SECOND HALF: Only down by seven coming out the locker room, Oklahoma City stormed back and took its first lead of the night with 17:12 on the clock as
Yorgio Golesis stole the ball away leading up to a fastbreak layup to go in front 49-48. The two sides traded leads throughout most of the half and neither side could go up by more than three until Ozarks did it after a 7-0 run with 3:37 to go up by five.
Avery Jackson found his way to line to help bring the Stars closer as Cloud made it a one point game with under two minutes to play. DJ Quarles hit a big shot for the Bobcats that made it a three point game leading up to Golesis hitting what was thought as the biggest shot of the game tying things up at 81 with 47 seconds left. 10 seconds later, Caleb Faulker took away the big shot by Golesis after coming down the floor and hitting the go ahead three that put OCU away for the night.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City drops its first contest of the moving to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
- All five starters for OCU scored in double-digit Brandon Wilson and Clayton Jewell each earning double-doubles.
- Avery Jackson led the game with 24 points on another efficient shooting night from the junior going 8-for-13 from the floor. Jackson posted his foirth game this season cross the 20-point mark while playing in all 40 minutes for the second time this season.
- Yorgio Golesis kept his double-digit scoring streak alive with 15 points and six rebounds while also playing 40 minutes of action.
- Clayton Jewell tabbed his fourth consecutive double-double with 12 points while having his sixth straight with double-double digits rebounds with 12 boards.
- Brandon Wilson notched his fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds while going 4-for-4 from the line.
- James Cloud tied a season-high with 13 points and marked a season-best with three assists.
- Oklahoma City tied a season-high with five blocks as a team as Jewell with two swats on the night.
