FIRST HALF: Both teams stayed within four points of each other through the first 10 plus minutes to play before UNT-Dallas broke away with an 8-0 run to go up 24-16. Oklahoma City made its way back after a three-point play by Clayton Jewell to help bring it to one point game but could not take back control of the lead as the Jaguars took a 35-28 lead heading into the locker room. Jewell and Brandon Wilson combined for nine of the 17 first half rebounds for OCU while Yorgio Golesis matched Jewell with a team-high of eight point through the first 20 minutes.

SECOND HALF: Jack McWilliams sank a pair of free throws to help bring the deficit down to four before UNT-Dallas caught fire and took off with an 18-4 run that gave the Jags their largest lead of the night at 62-44 with 10:12 to play. Right away Oklahoma City began to claw its way back as the defense turned up with the impact of Nick Bonifay and Dylan Bower. Avery Jackson took over on the offensive end as the junior scored 18 points in the last minutes to bring Oklahoma City back. Trailing by eight with 3:59 to play, Jackson went on to score the next eight points before Jewell knocked down a jumper with 18 seconds to play giving OCU back the lead for the first time since the 15:10 mark in the first half. On the Jaguars final opportunity facing a 74-73 deficit, Golesis made one of the biggest plays of the night taking a charge to hand Oklahoma City the basketball to close it out at the foul line to keep its perfect start alive.
