OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Stars women's basketball team completes its road trip on Saturday as the Stars take on UNT-Dallas at 2 PM in Dallas, Texas.

About the Stars  

  • OCU comes off a 17-point defeat to SAGU on Thursday and looks to get back in the win column on Saturday for its third SAC win of the season.  
  • Oklahoma City enters with a 2-4 record in Sooner Athletic Conference play earning wins over Central Christian and OPSU. 
  • The Stars will be looking for its first road win of the season after starting 0-6 away from home.   
  • Senior Amaya Gordon strung together a stellar performance on Thursday night against the Lions as Gordon finished the game as the Stars only player to reach double-figures thanks to a 21-point outing to go along with nine rebounds on 9-16 shooting.    
  • Jerzie Bryant and Jazmin Adams come in as two talented freshmen with Bryant averaging 11.1 points a game while Adams brings in 8.1 PPG along with 6.3 RPG.  
  • Cacie Gorman and Ray Osborn are both seniors who have made stars in every game this season.  
  • Osborn rounds out the third three double-figure scorers for the Stars with 10.0 PPG and saw one of her best games come in the one-point loss to Wayland Baptist where Osborn went for 17 points on 8-11 shooting.  
  • Gorman has been a fierce presence inside for OCU after having three games so far where she has hauled in double-digit rebounds and tallied a double-double against Sterling College with 12 and 10.  
  • Oklahoma City continues to see struggles from behind the arc ranking last in three-point percentage in the Sooner Athletic Conference at 18.3%.  
  • The defense for the Stars has begun to improve, only allowing 62.7 points per game making it the fourth-best in the SAC.  

About the Trailblazers 

  • UNT-Dallas enters Saturday with a 1-5 record overall and in conference play. The Trailblazers will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak and earn their first win inside their home building. 
  • The Trailblazers lone victory comes against Central Christian after blowing out the Tigers 89-62.  
  • UNT-Dallas will follow a 28-point loss to the top team in the Sooner Athletic Conference in John Brown as the Trailblazers suffered a 72-44 defeat and were outscored 26-6 in the fourth quarter.  
  • ZyUnn Cormier comes in as not only the Trailblazers best player but also enters as one of the best players in all of the Sooner Athletic Conference. Cormier leads the SAC in scoring with 19.6 PPG.  
  • Morgan Strawder and Kayla James come off double-figure scoring nights against JBU as Strawer finished with a team-high 15 points and seven rebounds while James racked up 13 points and five assists in 39 minutes of action.  
  • UNT-Dallas has seen struggles on the defensive end allowing 73.3 PPG which is the most among the conference.  

Series History   

  • The two schools have met only five times in the series' history while OCU has only fallen one time to the Trailblazers coming a season ago. 
  • Oklahoma City holds the upper hand with a 4-1 record over UNT-Dallas and came off an 82-64 win in the final meeting of last season where Amaya Gordon and Ray Osborn each contributed 10 points apiece.  

What's Next  

  • Oklahoma City will return home on Thursday, Jan. 11, and take on the Evangels of MId-America Christian inside Abe Lemons Arena at 6 PM.
