About the Stars

  • OCU comes off of two tough losses on the road falling in each game by five points to Southwestern Christian on Saturday and most recently to Science & Arts on Thursday night.
  • Oklahoma City enters Saturday's contest with the Rams holding a 5-11 overall record while going 4-6 in SAC play.
  • Senior Amaya Gordon leads Oklahoma City in scoring with 14.2 PPG as well as holding the team lead in rebounds with 8.2 RPG. Gordon continues to light it up as the senior came one assist shy of a triple-double on Saturday against Southwestern Christian while following that performance up with a 25-point double-double, setting a new career-high in scoring.
  • Jerzie Bryant has been a stellar piece for the Stars this season during her rookie campaign as Bryant has scored 18 points in back-to-back games helping raise her average to 13.1 a game.
  • Freshman Jazmin Adams and senior Cacie Gorman have been a tough tandem down low for Oklahoma City as Adams provides 9.5 PPG and 6.7 RPG while coming off a stretch of three straight games scoring in double-figures up until Thursday night where Adams tallied eight points on a season-best two three-pointers.
  • Gorman on the other hand, is second on the team in rebounds with 7.1 per game and earned her second double-double of the year on Saturday with a season-high 14 points. Gorman also has been a tough matchup on the defensive end as the senior leads the Sooner Athletic Conference in blocks per game.
  • Oklahoma City will look to find its groove shooting from deep as the Stars sit last in the conference in three-point percentage and three-pointers made.
  • Despite the struggles from range, Oklahoma City comes in as the fourth-best free-throw shooting team at 74.1% from the line.
  • OCU's rebounding efforts have not gone unnoticed as the Stars have three players in the top 10 of the leagues with Amaya Gordon fourth, Cacie Gorman sixth, and Jazmin Adams 10th.

About the Rams

  • Texas Wesleyan comes to Oklahoma City on Saturday 8-8 overall with a 4-6 record in conference play.

  • Mary Nyakundi follows in right behind Willis with 9.8 PPG leading the way last Saturday in the big win over Central Christian with 19 points and eight rebounds.
  • Similar to OCU, the Rams have struggled from the field, ranking one spot lower than the Stars in field goal percentage per game (37.4%).
  • Texas Wesleyan also struggles with rebounding the basketball, ranking 11th in the SAC in RPG.

Series History

  • In the all-time series, Texas Wesleyan has earned all five of its wins in the last five meetings.
  • The Rams have won five consecutive games over the Stars scoring 90 plus both times against OCU last season bringing the overall series record to 15-5 in favor of Oklahoma City.
