OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Stars men's basketball team looks to carry on its momentum after a win on Saturday as the Stars take go up against USAO on Thursday night on the road at 7:45 PM.

About the Stars    

  • Oklahoma City got a much-needed win on Saturday as the Stars snapped a four-game losing streak thanks to a 94-85 victory over Southwestern Christian. 
  • The Stars come into Thursday's game with a 4-11 overall record while holding a 2-7 record in SAC play.  
  • Brandon Jackson enters as the leading scorer for OCU as the senior forward is scoring 17.0 PPG while owning the team lead in rebounds with 6.8 per game. Jackson comes off three solid games scoring 20 points or more after setting a season-high against UNT-Dallas on Jan.6 with 28 points.  
  • Sophomore Avery Jackson falls in right behind Brandon Jackson who comes in as last year's SAC freshman of the year giving the Stars 16.8 PPG and comes off a big day on Saturday leading the way with a 30-point performance while cashing in on a season-high five threes.   
  • Freshman sensation Yorgio Golesis broke into the starting lineup in the early part of the season and has provided a strong quality of play as the OCU point guard. Golesis comes in as the Stars third-leading scorer with 9.8 PPG while setting a career-high of 23 points against SAGU on Jan. 4. 
  • Clayton Jewell joins Golesis as another freshman to help impact the Stars as the Australian native has scored in double-figures in three of his last four games while earning double-double performances in two of the last four. Jewell supplied Oklahoma City with 14 points on Saturday setting a career-high while hauling in 11 rebounds.  
  • Junior forward Parker Jones delivered one of his best games of the season on Saturday as Jones dropped 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists in 34 minutes of action.  
  • Oklahoma City is still trying to find its stroke shooting the basketball as the Stars rank last in the Sooner Athletic Conference in field goal percentage and three-point percentage.  
  • Despite its shooting woes, Oklahoma City does have success from the free throw line with a 73.6 FT%, fourth-best in the conference.   
  • Both Jacksons have had outstanding seasons from the free throw line as Brandon ranks second and Avery ranks fourth in the Sooner Athletic Conference from the foul line.  

About the Drovers 

  • Science & Arts enters the matchup with an 11-4 overall record while starting SAC play 6-3.  
  • The Drovers are tied for fifth place in the conference standings and have won six of their last eight games. USAO comes off a 111-62 loss to the number two team in the nation at Langston University.  
  • Reggie Quezada comes in as one the best players in the Sooner Athletic Conference scoring 17.8 PPG and saw a season-high 29 points come against SAGU back on Nov. 30. 
  • Science & Arts enters scoring at the second-highest clip in the conference with 84.1 PPG having scored 90 plus points in seven games.  
  • Anthony Ray joins Quezada as the Drovers double-figure scorer with 12.9 PPG on 45.5% shooting. Ray supplied the Drovers with a season-high 23-point outing against Evangel to help edge out a 90-84 win.   

Series History     

  • The all-time series is a tight one as USAO holds a 17-16 advantage over the Stars since its first-ever meeting back in 2008. 
  • The most recent meeting came last season on Jan. 21 as the Stars earned a15 15-point victory behind 20 points from Avery Jackson.

  • Oklahoma City returns home for a three-game home stand starting on Saturday, Jan. 20 against Texas Wesleyan at 3:45 PM.
