OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University rolled to 14-0 and 12-4 victories over Central Christian (Kan.) on Saturday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
Lexi Duff and
Brynlee Alsip combined on a no-hitter in the Stars' 14-0 win. Oklahoma City, ranked eighth in NAIA softball, moved to 20-6, 7-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference on the season.
Duff and Alsip combined for five strikeouts in five hitless innings. Duff, a senior from Lone Grove, Okla., majoring in biomedical sciences, got the win to move to 8-3. Duff pitched the first three innings. Duff retired Central Christian in order through two innings.
In the first game, the Stars racked up 14 hits. Every starter got a hit for OCU.
OCU got out of the gate quick with four hits and five runs in the first.
Analise Rayburn lifted the Stars in their five-run second inning with a three-run home run. She had five RBIs overall. The Stars' third inning consisted of four runs, three hits and three errors.
Brooklyn Mason led with three hits, while
Kamryn Garvie had two hits and three RBIs.
Carlee Mollet had two hits and two RBIs.
Kaitlyn Jones had three RBIs off of one hit and a walk.
OCU got on the board first in the second with RBI singles by
Amy Crabaugh and
Rally Radacy. Rayburn picked up right where she left off as she led the charge in the fourth on an RBI triple. The triple by Rayburn gave her a cycle within nine innings of play throughout both games of the double-header. Later in the inning
Tiffany Paul capped off the four run fourth inning with a two-run homer.
The Stars won the game by run rule in the fifth thanks to a Crabaugh homer that went over the scoreboard and the winning RBI single by Mason.
Brynlee Alsip got the win to improve to 2-0.
OCU will play at 5 p.m. Tuesday in a doubleheader vs. Southwestern Christian at Ann Lacy Stadium.
