WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Oklahoma City University took a 92-70 loss to Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Saturday at the Sheaffer Center.
Avery Jackson led all scorers with 25 points. Oklahoma City went to 11-11, 9-7 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's basketball.
Avery Jackson, the freshman political science major from Frisco, Texas, also had eight rebounds and was 4-of-7 on three-pointers.
OCU and SAGU have now split the season series as the Stars beat the Lions 72-62 on Dec. 8th at Abe Lemons Arena.
Jack McWilliams and Parker Jones also finished with double digits in scoring for OCU. McWilliams, a freshman computer science major from Sydney, Australia, scored 10, hitting all three of his shots from the field, and adding four free throws. Parker Jones, a sophomore business major from Russellville, Ky., added 12 points.
SAGU went on a 16-8 run to lead by 17 midway through the second half.
The Stars will head to UNT Dallas on Monday for a stretch of three games in six days. Tip time is at 7 p.m.
