Meet the Coaches

  • Kris Seigenthaler (2nd Season)
    • Kris Seigenthaler enters year two at the helm for Stars after posting a 13-15 record in 2022-23. Seigenthaler arrived at Oklahoma City after a successful stint as an assistant coach at Loyola (La.).
    • In four seasons with Loyola, Seigenthaler helped the Wolfpack sweep the Southern States Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships for two consecutive years. Loyola advanced to the NAIA Championship Tournament and posted 20-win seasons all four years. The Wolf Pack went 91-22 (.805 winning percentage) with her contributions.
    • Seigenthaler coached four NAIA all-Americans, two Women's Basketball Coaches Association all-Americans as well as student-athletes who won conference player of the year, defensive player of the year, newcomer of the year, sixth man of the year, and two conference tournament most valuable player awards at Loyola.
    • Before joining the Loyola coaching staff, Seigenthaler spent two years as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Auburn University Montgomery (Ala.). She coached one all-American there. She assisted with the school's transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference after being a member of the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) for 17 years. While with the Warhawks in 2017, she was also recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on its Thirty Under 30 list.
  • Jason Cooper (3rd Season)
    • A native of Crandall located east of Dallas, Cooper already had a history with the Flying Queens rich history. Following his two-year basketball playing career with the WBU Pioneers from 1997-99 that saw him earn All-Sooner Athletic Conference and NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors as a 6-foot-6 post and take home the prestigious Roscoe Snyder Award as Wayland's most outstanding male athlete, Cooper served as a graduate assistant coach for the Flying Queens and later assistant coach alongside his sister-in-law, Johnna Pointer.
    • Cooper's first campaign as Queens coach went rather well. In 2021-22, the team went 33-4 – the program's most wins in more than 40 years – won both the Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships for the third straight year, and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament round of 16 sporting a No. 8 national ranking. Two Flying Queens -- Kaylee Edgemon and Jenna Cooper -- were named NAIA All-Americans.
