BELLEVUE, Neb. – Oklahoma City University completed the Bellevue Labor Day Classic without a win against a challenging field Saturday at the Lied Activity Center.
The Stars fell to Doane (Neb.) 25-19, 25-21, 25-20 and William Woods (Mo.) 25-18, 22-25, 25-17, 25-18. OCU went to 4-5.
Against Doane, Catelyn Vargas totaled nine kills and two aces, and Ruby Kelley added seven kills and 10 digs.
Cassidy DeShong produced 19 assists and two aces, while Emma Vance handed out 14 assists. Kaitlyn Dunlap picked up 12 digs.
Against William Woods, Kelley reeled in eight kills, 12 digs and two blocks, while Michela De Stefano notched eight kills, eight digs and two aces.
Vance added 21 assists and nine digs, and Dunlap collected 19 digs and three aces. DeShong had 14 assists.
Oklahoma City will aim to get back to its winning ways against Science & Arts at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena.
