OKLAHOMA CITY – Science & Arts stopped Oklahoma City University's winning streak with an 11-1 win Sunday at Jim Wade Stadium.
The Stars, ranked sixth in NAIA baseball, owned their best winning string of 18 victories since March 5-April 8, 2017. Oklahoma City fell to 23-2, 8-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, while 12th-ranked Science & Arts went to 16-7, 6-3 in the SAC.
Bellevue (Neb.) dealt OCU its other setback this season 9-8 on Feb. 12 in Oklahoma City.
Peyton Crispin led off the seventh inning by pounding a solo home run beyond the right-field wall to account for the Stars' only run of the day.
Josh Harrel maintained a shutout against OCU for six innings. Harrel worked 7.2 innings and limited the Stars to one run on five hits and three walks while striking out seven.
Cross Factor went 2-for-4 for the Stars. Crispin, a senior from Lookeba, Okla., hit his eighth homer of the year.
Oklahoma City takes on Mid-America Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday at Jim Wade Stadium. The Stars and Mid-America Christian are tied atop the SAC standings.
