• The Stars suffered their first overtime loss of the season 105-102 to Panhandle State on Monday in Goodwell, Okla. Oklahoma City (13-12, 12-6 SAC) allowed 100 points to an opponent for the first time since Feb. 6, 2020, when Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) won 102-90 in Oklahoma City

Rashaun Coleman, a 6-foot senior from Houston, fueled the Stars with career highs in scoring (33 points) and field goals (11). Coleman's previous career best of 27 points came at North Texas Dallas on Dec. 2, 2021. Coleman has posted 16.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.35 steals a game with 40 percent shooting from past the 3-point line this season

Kori Guest, a 6-foot-6 junior from Tulsa, Okla., equaled his season high with 22 points while shooting 5-for-11 from beyond the arc. He scored 22 points for the third time this season. Guest racks up 13.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest in 2021-22
• Opponents have shot 27.8 percent from beyond the 3-point arc against OCU, putting the Stars at sixth in the NAIA this season in opposing teams' 3-point shooting percentage. Panhandle State and Wayland Baptist (Texas) hit 53.5 percent (23 of 43) of their 3-pointers against the Stars last weekend
• The Stars took the eighth spot in the preseason SAC coaches poll. OCU owns 13 SAC regular-season championships and 10 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City has advanced to the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament 25 times all-time and has won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008
• Oklahoma City holds the lead in the overall series 20-15. Mid-America Christian took the first meeting of the season between the two teams 80-68 on Jan. 6 at Abe Lemons Arena. Guest provided OCU with a season-high 22 points
ABOUT THE EVANGELS
• Mid-America Christian upended ninth-ranked Southwestern Assemblies of God 92-74 on Monday in Oklahoma City. The Evangels (15-10, 4-11 SAC) own a four-game winning streak and have gone 8-3 since falling to Southwestern Assemblies of God on New Year's Day at the Gaulke Activity Center
• Kendall Scott, a 6-6 senior, had a season-best 25 points and 18 rebounds. Scott hit 11 of his 18 shots from the field. He averages 13.9 points and 7.8 rebounds a game with percentages of 55.9 percent from the floor and 41.7 percent from 3-point land in 2021-22
• The Evangels rate 11th in the NAIA in opponents' 3-point percentage (28.4 percent) on the season
• SAC coaches expected Mid-America Christian to place third in the league in the preseason
ABOUT THE COACHES
Mark Berokoff (first season with OCU)
•
Mark Berokoff guided Randall to three national championships and a national runner-up finish in nine years as head coach of the Saints. Berokoff's record with Randall was 147-122. Randall regularly challenged SAC squads and defeated OCU twice during that time
• Berokoff coached five national player of the year honorees, 16 all-Americans, three national tournament outstanding player award winners and one scholar all-American with Randall. Berkoff was two-time national coach of the year
• Berokoff's coaching career includes experience on the high school, college and professional levels. His combined head-coaching record over 19 years in the college and prep ranks is 372-199
Josh Gamblin (144-68, seventh season with Mid-America Christian)
• Gamblin grabbed the SAC coach of the year while leading Mid-America Christian to a 30-win season and the conference regular-season championship in 2019-20. Gamblin notched his 100th career victory Jan. 4, 2020 against John Brown (Ark.)
• In his first season with Mid-America Christian, Gamblin took the Evangels to their first ever NAIA national championship, defeating No. 1-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) 100-99 in overtime March 22, 2016. He became the youngest coach (27) in college basketball history to win a national championship at a four-year institution. Gamblin collected the 2015-16 Rawlings-NAIA Division I coach of the year and also has received the Dr. James Naismith-Emil S. Liston Sports Award
• He joined Mid-America after a tenure at the University of Oklahoma, where Gamblin was a graduate assistant under head coach Lon Kruger
