BETHANY, Okla. – Oklahoma City University rolled to a 25-21, 25-16, 25-21 victory over Southwestern Christian on Tuesday at the Pickens-Springer Gymnasium.
Michela De Stefano, Rylee Steward and Catelyn Vargas each rang up a team-high nine kills. Oklahoma City improved to 9-9, 7-4 in Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball.
De Stefano, a sophomore from Rome, tracked down a season-high 13 digs. Vargas, a senior from Lubbock, Texas, chipped in three blocks.
The Stars' Riley Winkler, a sophomore from Plano, Texas, equaled her season best with 13 digs, while Cassidy DeShong, a sophomore from Amarillo, Texas, turned in 17 assists and seven digs.
Ruby Kelley, a sophomore from Mustang, Okla., provided OCU with eight kills and 11 digs, and Emma Vance, a junior from Norman, Okla., accrued 14 assists and four digs.
Emma Nickerson staked Oklahoma City to an 18-9 first-set advantage with a kill.
OCU put away the win with back-to-back blocks by Kelley and Nickerson.
The Stars take on John Brown (Ark.) at 7 p.m. Friday in Siloam Springs, Ark.
