THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University will play its next to last regular season home game of the season on Saturday when it hosts North Texas Dallas at Abe Lemons Arena. After Saturday's game OCU will close-out the regular season by playing five of six games on the road.
• OCU defeated North Texas Dallas 73-66 in Dallas on Dec. 2 in what was the first ever meeting between the two schools. UNTD led 49-48 after three quarters but OCU opened the fourth quarter with a 12-2 run to build a 60-51 lead in that contest. Senior guard Erika Ankney finished with a team-high 25 points in the win while junior guard Paige Pendley contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds.
• OCU enters the game in sixth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a 8-7 league record while UNTD stands in ninth place with a 4-11 conference mark.
 

ABOUT THE STARS 

• OCU (13-7, 8-7 SAC) took the lead for good at 5-3 on Thursday night at Abe Lemons Arena enroute to a 78-57 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas). The win was the third in the last four games for the Stars with the closest margin in those three games being a 74-57 home win over Central Christian (Kan.) on Jan. 20. The other decision was an 88-68 road win at Langston on Jan. 22.
• Four players scored in double-figures for the Stars with junior forward Fiona Wilson leading the way with a team-high 19 points. It was Wilson's third 19-point outing of the season, topped only by a 23-point performance in a win over LSU-Alexandria on Nov. 24. She ranks fourth on the squad with an 11.8 points per game scoring average.
• Senior guard Annilia Dawn finished with 15 points and a season-high tying four steals in the win. She previously recorded four steals in a win over Central Christian (Kan.) on Nov. 18.
• Senior center Abby Selzer recorded 14 points and three blocks in the win over SAGU. She leads the Sooner Athletic Conference in blocks (1.6 bpg) while ranking fourth in scoring (18.4 ppg).
• Senior center Selena Driskill came off the bench to record a career-high eight rebounds in the win. She previously recorded seven rebounds earlier this season in wins over SAGU and John Brown.
• OCU achieved its best free throw shooting performance of the season against SAGU, making 19 of 20 attempts (95%). The Stars lead the Sooner Athletic Conference and rank fifth in NAIA in free throw percentage (305 of 393, 77.6%) while also ranking second in the NAIA in free throws made per game (17.9).
• OCU committed only 10 turnovers in the win, marking the second-fewest turnovers committed this season. Earlier this season the Stars committed eight turnovers in a win over Southwestern Christian.
• The Stars recorded a season-high 14 steals in the win over the Lady Lions. It was also the most steals in a game since 18 were recorded in a win over Langston on March 2, 2020.
• OCU ranks sixth in the SAC in team offense (75.2 ppg) and eighth in team defense (69.5 ppg).
• Oklahoma City has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017 and finished as national runner-up four times (2003, 2004, 2005 and 2019) 
• The Stars took third in the preseason SAC poll. Oklahoma City owns 20 SAC regular-season titles and 12 SAC Tournament championships. Since 2007-08, OCU has gone 250-29 (.896 winning percentage) in conference play

ABOUT THE TRAILBLAZERS

• North Texas Dallas (4-11, 10-12 SAC) enters the game with a four-game losing streak. The Trailblazers dropped a 74-56 decision to John Brown on Thursday night in Siloam Springs, Ark.
• Senior forward Delyssa Miller contributed a team-high 27 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
• Miller ranks second in the Sooner Athletic Conference in scoring (19.3 ppg) and fifth in rebounding (8.6 rpg).
• Sophomore Tamia Miller contributed a season-high 15 points to go with eight rebounds in the loss.
• UNTD ranks 10th in the SAC in team offense (63.6 ppg) and 12th in team defense (78.8 ppg).

 
MEET THE COACHES

Brett Tahah (18-5, second season with OCU)
• Tahah is the first former OCU student-athlete to serve as head coach of the program
• As a player from 2002-10 she helped lead the team to a 63-10 record, two conference championships and two NAIA Fab Four appearances
• Tahah compiled a 117-50 head-coaching record with two state tournament semifinal berths in six years at Oklahoma high schools Frontier, Elgin, Hobart and Lookeba-Sickles 

Rodney Belcher (12-20, second season at UNT Dallas)
• UNT Dallas went 2-8 in its first season of competition, collecting the first win in program history against Texas A&M-Texarkana 69-56 on Nov. 20, 2020 in Dallas
• Belcher guided Plano High School (Texas) to a 172-46 record with the 2018 Class 6A state championship and three district titles in six years. He had also been a head coach at Albuquerque Rio Grande (N.M.)
• Belcher previously coached on the college level as a men's assistant at Baylor and New Mexico
