OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University has scheduled the 19th annual Abe Lemons Golf Classic at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24 at Lincoln Park Golf Course.

The Abe Lemons Golf Classic serves as one of the Stars' major annual fundraising events. The tournament will once again include a large gathering of alumni, fans and golfers. OCU staff will also be on hand to meet and visit before and after the event.

The Abe Lemons Golf Classic benefits the Abe Lemons endowed scholarship and the Stars' championship endeavors. Registration for a four-person team is $600, and hole sponsorships are $250 ($150 if also entering a team). To sign up a team or sponsor a hole, visit the online registration page or download this form (PDF) and return to the address provided. For information, or to donate prizes for the tournament, contact Chris Maxon, Associate Athletic Director for Development – camaxon@okcu.edu or 405-208-5431.

This year's tournament will again feature four-person teams playing in a scramble format. Lunch will be provided, and all players participating in the tournament will be eligible for additional prizes. Check-in takes place at 7:30 a.m., followed by an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Space is limited, and the tournament is expected to reach capacity prior to the Sept. 17 entry deadline.

Oklahoma City owns 70 national championships in all sports as well as Directors' Cup titles in 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19. OCU has won at least one national title for 28 years running. The Stars also thrive in the classroom after putting together their best combined grade-point average of the past decade (3.332) in 2020-21.

Lincoln Park, Oklahoma City's oldest public golf course, unveiled its new state-of-the-art $9.25 million clubhouse in spring 2015. A great partner to OCU athletics, Lincoln played host to the 2019 NAIA Women's Golf Championships. Lincoln Park will once again serve as the host course for the NAIA Championships on May 24-27, 2022.
