Stars hit hardwood for first time in one week

THE MATCHUP
• Oklahoma City University returns to the court at Southwestern Christian after a week absence
• The Stars have been idle since Feb. 6 due to frigid weather in the area
• Southwestern Christian is allowing spectator attendance at 25 percent capacity of its facility for its home contests

ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City fell to Mid-America Christian 84-78 on Feb. 6 at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars (1-5, 1-5 Sooner Athletic Conference) have had all their games decided by seven points or less this season
Rashaun Coleman, a 6-foot senior from Houston, notched 17 points, five rebounds, six assists and two steals vs. Mid-America Christian. Coleman averaged 18.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.50 steals a game while shooting 41.7 percent from 3-point range over his past two outings. On the season, Coleman's numbers have been 11.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.00 steals per contest
Romario Spence, a 6-7 senior from Luton, England, contributed 15 points, five rebounds and two assists. Spence turns in 9.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in 2020-21
• Oklahoma City limits foes to a 41 percent field-goal percentage to rank 23rd in the country. Coleman's assists average rates 42nd among the NAIA this season. See how the Stars stack up with the other teams in the NAIA statistically here
• The Stars took the eighth spot in the preseason SAC coaches poll. OCU owns 13 SAC regular-season championships and 10 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City has advanced to the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament 25 times all-time and has won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008
• OCU's advantage in the all-time series against Southwestern Christian is 13-3. The Stars rolled to a 103-78 romp Feb. 11, 2020 in Bethany, Okla., in the most recent encounter. Elie Ghomsi recorded 15 points and nine rebounds
 
ABOUT THE EAGLES
• Southwestern Christian took a 100-80 loss to USAO on Feb. 6 in Chickasha, Okla. The Eagles (5-7, 4-5 SAC) allowed their season-high point total
• Khristien White, a 6-3 senior, had 20 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals. He reached 20 points for the fourth time this season. White averages 14.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.00 steals a contest
• Southwestern Christian had the seventh slot in the preseason SAC coaches poll

MEET THE COACHES
Tim Kisner (first season with OCU)
• Kisner served as an assistant coach at John Brown (Ark.) the previous two seasons. John Brown went 51-16 (.762 winning percentage) with a program record-tying 28 victories last season, two national-tournament berths, two second-place finishes in the SAC and two appearances in the SAC Tournament title game. The Golden Eagles were 44-48 (.478) the two years prior to Kisner's arrival
• Guided Fresno Pacific to 14 victories as head coach in 2015-16, which was a five-game improvement over the previous season
• Started four years at point guard for Central Michigan from 1997-2001, earning spots on the program's all-time list for points, assists, 3-pointers and steals
 
Brandon Rollins (19-22, second season with Southwestern Christian)
• Rollins led Southwestern Christian to a 14-15 mark in his first season as a head coach
• Prior to Southwestern Christian, Rollins held an assistant coaching position at Mid-America Christian, where he helped lead the Evangels to the 2016 NAIA Division I national championship. He spent one season as an assistant coach at Southwestern Christian under Quinn Wooldridge and one season as an assistant coach at Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City
• Rollins played collegiately at SCU, appearing in 89 games for the Eagles after they joined the NAIA in 2010-11
