ABOUT THE STARS
• The Stars prevailed over John Brown (Ark.) 75-74 on Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena. Oklahoma City (1-2, 1-2 Sooner Athletic Conference) compiled a season-best 44.2 percent field-goal percentage
Kori Guest, a 6-foot-6 junior from Tulsa, Okla., produced 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists while nailing a team-high three treys. Guest leads the Stars with 14.7 points and 2.00 steals a contest and a 90.9 percent free-throw shooting clip
Ryan Birt, a 6-2 senior from Plano, Texas, and Elie Ghomsi, a 6-7 junior from Bafoussam, Cameroon, scored 11 points each. Ghomsi provided OCU with season bests in points (11), rebounds (nine) and steals (two). Ghomsi contributes 5.7 points and 7.3 rebounds a game

• The Stars took the eighth spot in the preseason SAC coaches poll. OCU owns 13 SAC regular-season championships and 10 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City has advanced to the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament 25 times all-time and has won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008
• Southwestern Assemblies of God owns an 8-7 all-time record against Oklahoma City. Southwestern Assemblies defeated the Stars 102-90 on Feb. 6, 2020 in Oklahoma City
 
ABOUT THE LIONS
• Southwestern Assemblies of God knocked off previously undefeated USAO 99-82 on Jan. 23 in Waxahachie, Texas. The Lions (4-1, 3-1 SAC) shot 55.3 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from 3-point range in the second half
• Joshua Kashila, a 6-3 senior, had 30 points, six rebounds and two assists. Kashila provided SAGU with career bests in points, field goals (12) and 3-pointers (six). Kashila made his season debut Jan. 23
• Southwestern Assemblies of God moved into the latest rankings at No. 15
• The Lions sink 12.0 3-pointers per game as a team to rank second nationally. Joel Polius tops the NAIA with 5.6 offensive rebounds per contest
• SAC coaches projected Southwestern Assemblies of God to finish third in the league in the preseason

MEET THE COACHES
Tim Kisner (first season with OCU)
• Kisner served as an assistant coach at John Brown (Ark.) the previous two seasons. John Brown went 51-16 (.762 winning percentage) with a program record-tying 28 victories last season, two national-tournament berths, two second-place finishes in the SAC and two appearances in the SAC Tournament title game. The Golden Eagles were 44-48 (.478) the two years prior to Kisner's arrival
• Guided Fresno Pacific to 14 victories as head coach in 2015-16, which was a five-game improvement over the previous season
• Started four years at point guard for Central Michigan from 1997-2001, earning spots on the program's all-time list for points, assists, 3-pointers and steals
 
Delton Deal (72-30, third season with Southwestern Assemblies of God, 209-118, 10th season overall)
• Deal has led Southwestern Assemblies of God to the SAC Tournament championship and NAIA Division I Championship Tournament in two of the past three years
• Prior to SAGU, Deal took York (Neb.) to three NAIA Division II men's basketball championshp tournaments in seven years. Before his arrival, the Panthers had only one one winning season in program history, and under his watch, the Panthers did not suffer a losing record in a single season in any of his seasons
• Before his time at York, Deal coached in Fort Worth, Texas at Bethesda Christian High School where he was 97-28, and where he won the 2007 TAPPS 3A state championship. That season, he also won state coach of the year honors
