OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University routed Langston 100-71 on Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Kori Guest, a junior from Tulsa, Okla., stood out for Oklahoma City with 17 points and six rebounds. The Stars went to 3-5, 2-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's basketball.
OCU scored 100 points for the first time since a 100-80 victory over Panhandle State on Feb. 29, 2020 in Goodwell, Okla. The Stars rang up season highs for 3-pointers (13), assists (28), field-goal percentage (60.6 percent) and 3-point shooting (46.4 percent).
Dadrian Hoambrecker, a junior from Burlington, Iowa, supplied the Stars with 12 points, four rebounds and two steals, and Jaelen Arnette, a sophomore from San Antonio, posted 11 points and three assists.
Elie Ghomsi, a senior from Bafoussam, Cameroon, contributed 10 points and six rebounds, while Jordan Keys, a sophomore from Justin, Texas, came up with 10 points and two steals for Oklahoma City. Rashaun Coleman, a senior from Houston, dished out 12 assists to match his career high.
The Stars shot 9-for-11 from the floor while building an early 22-8 advantage. Ryan Birt downed a pair of treys, including a 3 that put OCU ahead by 14 points at the 14:59 mark.
Keys threw down a breakaway dunk to cap a 12-0 OCU run that pushed the margin to 45-23 with 5:09 left in the first period.
Romario Spence scored inside the paint to increase Oklahoma City's lead to 68-28 early in the second half.
The Stars meet North Texas Dallas at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 2 in Lancaster, Texas.
