OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University collected a 25-21, 25-18, 25-11 victory over Science & Arts on Tuesday night at Abe Lemons Arena.
Ruby Kelley produced a team-best 12 kills for the Stars. Oklahoma City moved to 16-8, 14-3 in Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball.
Kelley, a freshman from Mustang, Okla., posted a career-high 16 digs for her first double-double, her 10th double-digit kill total and two blocks. Sophia Salak, a senior from McKinney, Texas, accumulated 35 assists, seven digs and three blocks for OCU.
Josie Thomas, a freshman from Choctaw, Okla., turned in 15 digs and two aces, and Olivia Nutter, a senior from Plano, Texas, supplied the Stars with seven kills and two blocks.
OCU's Dylan Sokolosky, a freshman from Oklahoma City, totaled seven digs, while Catelyn Vargas, a junior from Lubbock, Texas, contributed six kills and two aces.
The Stars put together four points in a row to build a 21-16 first-set lead. Sokolosky served up an ace, and Kelley pounded down a kill to key OCU.
Oklahoma City closed out the second set by scoring the last five points of the set. Kelley smacked a pair of kills to power the Stars.
OCU sealed the victory with a 9-1 run in the third set. Vargas nailed two kills and combined with Kenady Bertling on a block to highlight the surge.
The Stars host Mid-America Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena for senior night and OCU's last regular-season home match of the season.
